Water moves: waves surge, rain falls, snow melts, rivers run, springs rise, geysers shoot.

Yet the power to move always comes from somewhere else: sun, gravity, wind, thermal. Without this other power, water does not move – it stagnates.

Faith moves: it listens, it steps, it sees, it reaches, it feels, it speaks, it touches.

Yet the power to move in faith always comes from someone else: the Holy Spirit. Without the Holy Spirit faith does not move – it stagnates.

Streams of living water flow out of all those who believe. Their words are Spirit and truth, their deeds are the Fathers work. By the power of the Holy Spirit they move.

Whoever believes in me, as the Scripture has said, streams of living water will flow from within him. By this he meant the Spirit, whom those who believed in him were later to receive.
