It is time to break the religious glass.
When you trap an insect under a glass the first thing it loses is its physical freedom. If you leave it there the glass fogs up and it then loses its vision. If it remains long enough eventually the oxygen runs out and it dies.
Many of God’s children are trapped underneath religious glasses. They have lost their freedom in the Spirit, they can no longer see the kingdom of God and they are spiritually dead.
Unfortunately many have been born underneath a religious glass and have then been taught to believe that their spiritual lack is in fact their blessed inheritance.
The truth however, is that underneath the glass are brothers and sisters who are wounded and not healed, hungry yet not receiving food, chained yet not set free, walking naked with no-one to clothe them.
Is not this the kind of fasting I have chosen:
to loose the chains of injustice
and untie the cords of the yoke,
to set the oppressed free
and break every yoke?
Is it not to share your food with the hungry
and to provide the poor wanderer with shelter–
when you see the naked, to clothe him,
and not to turn away from your own flesh and blood?
Then your light will break forth like the dawn,
and your healing will quickly appear;
then your righteousness will go before you,
and the glory of the Lord will be your rear guard.
Then you will call, and the Lord will answer;
you will cry for help, and he will say: Here am I.
